10 Nov The GEC’s inaugral Prosper Kerry event
The GEC launched the inaugural ‘Prosper Series’ event at our Enterprise Centre in Dublin 8, in the heart of the Liberties on November 9th.
The Prosper Series was developed by The GEC to create a network among a counties business diaspora to enhance the prosperity in a county through co-operation, knowledge sharing, creativity, inspiration and a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem
Kerry start-ups who are currently helping to develop jobs in the county, Mibeau Interiors, Crua Outdoors and StoryStock helped launch the event and legendary Kerry entrepreneur Jerry Kennelly our Keynote speaker, told the audience all about his entrepreneurial journey, lessons learned and challenges facing enterprises in his home County.
‘The event gave me the opportunity to expand my network in Dublin, linking in with key people involved in a variety of different industries. I developed contacts on the night whom I am sure will open doors for StoryStock in future’ ~ Francis Fitzgibbon, Storystock
‘What a fantastic night for me to represent the female entrepreneurs in Kerry, it was great to get my lifestyle brand mibeau Interiors reach a kerry diaspora audience in Dublin, it allowed me to network with other great Kerry entrepreneurs working in Dublin & I made connections on the night with people I would never have known only for it”! Huge thanks to Eamonn & his mighty team for inviting me’ ~ Michelle Keane, Mibeau Interiors.
‘This was a great opportunity for a start-up like ours to network with influential members of the Kerry Diaspora. And well executed too!’ ~ Derek, Crua Outdoors
All attendees were asked to take some time over the next few days and consider how they can help these three Kerry startup companies grow and to also keep in mind that these companies are developing jobs for their family, friends and neighbours in Kerry.
A great evening was had by all at the first ever Prosper Series event in which attendees learned all about the entrepreneurial landscape in the Kingdom. Already the response has been extremely positive – many have applauded the vision of the Prosper Series – developing the Kerry business diaspora to enhance the entrepreneurship community in Kerry.
The GEC will be extending the Prosper Series nationally in 2018 – the counties of Limerick & Galway are up next. Ed Harty, CEO of Dairymaster has been announced as the keynote speaker at the next #ProsperKerry event on March 1st but in the meantime, keep up the conversation online – #ProsperKerry @ProsperSeries – Ciarraí Abú!
