The GEC story began over two decades ago when Dublin Business Innovation Centre (Dublin BIC) found it had a common goal with Diageo Ireland (Guinness Ireland Group) – to stimulate enterprise development and business innovation within the inner city of Dublin.

In 2000, a state-of-the-art 6,000sq ft enterprise centre, developed from a warehouse within the Guinness St James’ Street complex, opened its doors with the capacity to accommodate 400 ambitious entrepreneurs.

The companies and organisations that provided the vision, commitment and financial backing at the beginning are the same partners that continue to support the GEC, contributing both to its rich heritage and the success story it is today.
